Thursday August 13, 1998Perspective view looking east along the steep eastern margin of Lake Tahoe. The view shows the Glenbrook Bay area just south of Deadman Pt on the left to the area of South Pt on the right. Lake floor is in color (orange is 35m, purple is 450m), land is gray scale, black is area not yet surveyed. Vertical exaggeration is 4 x. The foreground shows allochthonous blocks from large debris avalanche. The background shows two well-developed sediment aprons formed at the base of the margin. The apron on the left is ~2km long with 120m of relief. The apron on the right is 1.2km long and also has 120m of relief. Both aprons are ornamented with large transverse bedforms 5m high with wavelengths of ~100m. Back to Bathymetry Images Page.
